Public Service Opportunity

The City of Coalinga seeks interested persons from the Coalinga community to serve on the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is an advisory commission to the Coalinga City Council. It is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council on the general plan, development projects and zoning issues, including but not limited to: general plan amendments, zoning amendments, variances, conditional use permits, and subdivision map approvals.

The Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council. Appointments are for terms of four years. Commissioners must reside within the City limits.

Applications shall be filed with the City Clerk at City Hall (155 W. Durian, Coalinga, CA 93210) and can be found on the City’s website or at City Hall. Interviews may be scheduled at the discretion of staff should it be needed in order to make a well informed recommendation to the City Council for appointment.
