Smart Water Meters

What is a "Smart Meter"?

Smart water meters, are high-tech water meters that have lots of new features. These new meters allow you to track their usage on an quarter-hour, hourly, daily, monthly, or yearly basis through an online portal.   They can also be utilized to provide you instant notification of leaks and help you conserve water.

How Can I get a Smart Meter?

Unfortunately we cannot currently supply each household with a smart meter.  Strides are being taken to that end, but it will take time. In the interim, interested citizens may apply to receive one at their home.  This is on a first come/first serve basis, and is subject to availability.

Once your application has been accepted and a meter is available, you will be notified.  A public works employee will install the new meter at your home shortly thereafter.

Creating an Eye on Water Account

After the installation, the meter must be entered into the water accounting system.  This may take up to 24 hours for the information to populate.  After this process you will be able to create an account with the "Eye on Water" website and view your water usage information freely.

To create an account you will need the following:

  • A smart meter installed at your home
  • Your Account Number *this is printed on your city bill
  • The "Eye on Water" app or a computer to visit the website.
  • An email address

To create an account you can either download the "Eye on Water" application on your phone by searching for "Eye on Water" on your relative app store or you can visit Eye on Water.  You will be prompted to create an account, which will require your zip code and account number(this is the account number printed on your city bill).  Once your account is created, you can now view your usage information freely online.
