Advocacy

The City contracts with Townsand Public Affairs, Inc.to assist the City in municipal lobbying in order to influence state and federal decision-makers, to help shape public policy or influence decisions that affect specific interests within the City of Coalinga.

 Townsend's lobbying activities include:

Advocacy 

Representing the interests of businesses, organizations, or individuals to local government officials which includes lobbying for or against specific policies, regulations, or projects.

Policy Analysis

Providing analysis and research on proposed policies or regulations to inform the City about their potential impact on different stakeholders within the city.

Public Relations

Engaging in public relations campaigns to build support for specific issues or projects among local residents, community groups, or other stakeholders.

Coalition Building

Forming alliances with other organizations, businesses, or individuals that share common interests in influencing government decisions.

Legislative Drafting

Assisting in the drafting of legislation or regulations that align with the interests of the lobbying entity.

Grassroots Mobilization

Mobilizing grassroots support from residents or community groups to advocate for specific policies or projects within the City.
