Adopt-A-Spot Program

About the Program

The Adopt-A-Spot program was created to meet a need of our community. The program allows volunteers to keep a portion of public areas beautified and properly maintained. Volunteers can adopt a spot that is important to them, their families, and their community. Most public spaces are eligible for adoption such as: city owned lots, streets, and parks.

How to Adopt A Spot

Spot adoptions are at the sole discretion of the City of Coalinga.  In order to start the process of adopting a spot, please fill out the linked application below:

Tool Requests

The City can provide necessary hand tools and supplies necessary to help beautify your spot.  This is limited to hand tools, but that does not mean that you cannot use simple motorized equipment such as mowers or trimmers of your own.

In order to request such tools or supplies, please fill out and submit the following form to either the front desk of City Hall or Kristi Anderson at least two days prior to needing them.

Please note that some tools may not always be available.  Tool use will be on a first come first serve basis.

Reporting

Once you have cleaned your adopted spot, the City asks that you report what you have done.  This is in an effort to measure the effectiveness and optimize the program.  Reporting forms can be found here:

Signs

Signs are available, free of charge,  and can be installed by Public Works staff.  However, issuance of signs is at the sole discretion of the City of Coalinga.  The name of your organization or members can be placed on the sign.  Additionally, if a logo design is provided digitally that may be applied as well.
